Deregistered companies & Director ID

Hi,

We have a client who is intending on deregistering their companies after 30/6/2022 & they do not intend on becoming a director of any companies in the future.

My question is, does the company need to be completely deregistered by 30 Nov 22 or can they get away with no having to apply for their director ID as long as the company is in strike-off action prior to 30 Nov?

I have wondered about this also, having deregistered a few recently. I suspect that as long as the company is deregistered prior to 30/11/2022 that ASIC are unlikely to chase them.
